Ooty is a year-round hill station, but each season feels different. Here's a quick guide to the best time to visit — and what to pack — so your trip matches what you're after.

Summer (April–June): peak season

The most popular time, when the plains heat up and everyone escapes to the hills. Days are pleasant (roughly 15–25°C) and everything is open — but it's also the busiest and priciest. Book well ahead.

Monsoon (July–September): green and quiet

The hills turn lush and misty, crowds thin out and rates ease. Expect rain and low cloud — atmospheric if you don't mind getting wet, and lovely for tea-garden views. Pack a raincoat.

Winter (October–March): cool and clear
